National City is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around National City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Visiting from out of town, I was on a mission to find some legit, comforting Filipino cuisine, and this place delivered! It is as authentic as it getsβ The vibe inside is nice and welcoming, but the real MVP: our server, James! π making sure our coffee and sagoβt gulaman were never empty. They have a dining option for two people for only $30!! If you are looking for amazing flavor, cozy vibes, and service that treats you like family, do not sleep on Villa Manila! 10/10 recommend! ππ₯π

We were visiting from out of town and was looking for some of our filipino favorites we couldn't get back home. My wife's favorite bulaklak (if you know, you know), a large order of crispy pata and pork sisig w/egg. They were all delicious and good sized portions. I also had a San Miguel on tap and we finished our meal with a halo halo. Overall great food and friendly staff. Would definetly recommend.

Great food and even better service! Every dish was fresh and full of flavor, the kind of food that doesnβt make you feel grossly tired after. The staff (especially James) was very attentive and welcoming. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

Went here for a birthday yesterday. The food was set up kamayan style for the occasion. Food was delicious. Service on point. I liked their innovative play on traditional cocktails with a Filipino twist. I had their Mestizalada and my cousin had the Calamansi Breeze.

The fix for the homesick. When I was in the Philippines, I would never order Pinakbet at a restaurant. That kind of dish is best made by a mother, lola or tita with decades of experience in balancing each component. The vegetables must squeak, the kalabasa must be firmly mushy to bring out its natural sweetness, the bittermelon must not be masked and the eggplant must be in its right form, all under a light broth that blends all the flavors and yet does not even overpower the humble white rice. The fact that this restaurant achieved this tells me of the skills of the chefs and the guidance that they learned from. And I feel that the message that they serve on the plate is pride in what their parents made for them along with their experiences of living in The Philippines. This is the sisig I have not had in years in the style that I miss. In The Philippines, nearly everyone has switched over from using the maskara of the pig to the much easier to wield pork belly. Their sisig dish is perfectly seasoned and spiced and uses both the belly but more of the ears and possibly the jowl, crisped by cracklings and by the sizzling plate it is served on, with an aroma that reminds me both o
